CEMCA Community Radio Facilitation Centre (CCFC)
Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) is pleased to announce the formal launch of a new CEMCA Community Radio Facilitation Centre (CCFC) from July 15, 2011.
CCFC will be run as a distinct project of CEMCA and will address issues related to all aspects of community radio from policy to practice.
The CCFC is supported by Ford Foundation and is currently co-located at CEMCA premises.
The Facilitation Centre will undertake a range of activities to facilitate both new applicants as well as functioning Community Radio Stations which will include:
- Post-LOI (Letter of Intent) procedures like Frequency Allocation and Standing Advisory Committee on Frequency Allocation (SACFA) clearance,
Grant of Permission Agreement (GOPA) and WOL (Wireless Operating License) Clearances
- On-line Application Processes
- Track Status of Applications
- Promote Grassroots Leadership, Capacity Building and Travel Fellowships
- Policy Advocacy with concerned Ministries and line Departments
- Develop Toolkits and Guidelines to Improve Practice
